As I sit here watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games, I can't help but tingle with the anticipation of what's to come over the next several weeks.
As a former swimmer, I'm in the fortunate position of getting to watch my sport first. Over the next 8 days, the hard work pays off and we get to watch these athletes in all of their glory.
They've been tapering now for the last two weeks and their muscles are fresh and ready to show the world what they can do.
Whether they manage to exceed all expectations...
or merely get the chance to compete with all of their heart,
my eyes will be glued to every minute of the action.
I'm not exaggerating either. My DVR is getting delivered tomorrow morning. Let the games begin!
