I have a guilty pleasure. It's the only actual TV show that I follow for the entire season. I have quite an obsession with The Biggest Loser. Besides having a huge girl crush on Jillian Michaels (one of the trainers) I love the message of the show. It's a simple one.
No excuses.
The main premise of the show is that there is absolutely no excuse big enough for letting yourself become morbidly obese. Food is not your lover. Exercise is not your enemy. Cut the bull and start taking care of yourself. How refreshing is that?
I also love that the show illustrates the fact that excess weight causes so many health problems and not the other way around. The vast majority of the contestants no longer need medication after they drop the weight and all of their aches and pains disappear too.
There is no shortcut to losing the weight. Cut out processed and fried foods. Severely limit soda and alcohol until you reach your goal. Start moving. The Biggest Loser shows that yes it will hurt, but yes it is possible to turn your life around.
No more excuses. So, if you've never given it a chance, tune in and watch these people give their blood, sweat and tears (lots of them) to finally take control of their lives.
