The Louvre

The Louvre is definitely one of my favorite places to visit. It's grandiose without being gaudy and more importantly it houses Nike, the winged victory of Samothrace. I feel a certain kinship with her and she is absolutely my favorite piece of art.

Like most of our excursions, this one began with a trip to the playground. This particular playground was located in a park adjacent to the Louvre. Parker amused himself by riding a bouncing red horse for the better part of half an hour.

Then, we had lunch in a small cafe overlooking the Louvre.

After we ate and Parker fed the birds our leftover bread...

...we made our way over to the beautiful building.

Thankfully, right when we got inside, Parker passed out...

...so I had a chance to leisurely revisit my favorite pieces. Most of them are located in the Grand Gallery.

Then my sleepy-head woke up...

to be continued (because the munchkin just woke up in real time from his nap).
